Cullen Wines have been very successful in meeting their aim of producing a wine which, while fruit driven, is of such high quality that it will develop for several years under good cellaring conditions.
This wine was made from a carefully selected blend of Malbec, Petit Verdot and Merlot grown on the Mangan Vineyard, which has been shown to be ideally suited to nurturing these grape varieties.
Taste: A blend of Malbec, Petit Verdot and Merlot, this vintage of Mangan is in fine form. Bright, fleshy blackberry notes perch alongside dried flowers, cinnamon, cloves, black pepper and menthol. The palate is powerful, laced tightly with chalky herb-flecked tannins, the fruit and spice clinging to its coattails. Neatly structured with texture and freshness, this could hold its own against boldly flavored, spicy cuisine like an Indian curry, but could also cellar until 2030.
