Pavillon Rouge 2023, which represents 30% of the harvest. Since 2016, we have been making a more sustained effort to restructure the vineyard. On some superb terroirs, the vines are still too young to be included in the grand vin blend, but the restructuring is beginning to bear fruit, and some of the resulting wines were included in the Pavillon Rouge blend.
Tasting notes: A bright ruby colour. The nose is bursting with lively red fruit that is lightly creamy but still fresh. There is a hint of cigar leaf underneath, but the fruit takes centre stage. This follows on the palate, where gentle tannins allow a zesty core of fruit to shine through. High tones of cherry blossom, amaro and blood orange see a little baked vanilla, but there is a little cool blackcurrant here too.
