This whisky tells a different story of The Macallan spirit and casks, but more than that, it tells a story of rarity. Select casks at The Macallan Estate have contributed to the creation of this distinct whisky; from time to time our Whisky Master Team discover casks maturing in our warehouses which stand out from the others. These exceptionally rare casks of The Macallan have an intense sweet raisin flavour, and a rich velvety mouthfeel.
Tasting notes:
Nose: Tobacco-rich smokiness, with spicy hints of old oak and pepparkakor. Heavily Sherried notes of fig jam and buttery sultana scones give away the whisky’s Speyside roots.
Palate: Damson, dates and Demerara sugar. The earthy and herbaceous peaty elements take their time to reveal themselves.
Finish: A mixture of dark chocolate, fresh ginger and a whiff of bonfire smoke.
