SIPSMITH London Dry Gin. In 2009 Sam Glasworthy, Fairfax Hall and Jared Brown teamed up with a still named Prudence. They launched perhaps the most iconic gin of craft renaissance in London. This Gin was distilled on the first copper still in London in nearly two centuries. In some ways, This Gin was the beginning of Modern gin in London.
This Gin was born out of a desire to see gin production return to the city where it earned its name. With a nod to traditional hand crafted production, it combines traditional copper pot distillation with a recipe that wouldn’t look unfamiliar to an eighteenth century Master Distiller.
Tasting notes:
Aroma: Floral, summer meadow notes, followed by mellow rounded juniper and zesty, citrus freshness.
Palate: Dry juniper leads, then reveals lemon tart orange marmalade, before all the flavours harmonise.
Finish: Dryness leads, with spicy juniper a hint of lemon tart emerging.
