This shape was one of the original ‘wine friendly’ glasses designed by 9th generation Claus J. RIEDEL. The generous size of this glass allows the bouquet to develop fully, and smooths out the rough edges. It emphasises the fruit, playing down the bitter qualities of the tannin, and allows wines to achieve balance.
This product features a red crystal stem and black crystal base. RIEDEL introduced the Black Series Collector’s Edition to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the groundbreaking Sommeliers series. The handmade range features a collection of key Grape Varietal Specific shapes, to highlight and bring balance to specific wine varieties. Stunning design details emphasize these functional bowls: solid black crystal bases and red crystal strings overlaid with clear crystal.
This product is handmade. Our master glassmakers individually craft each item so every piece has a unique character. Due to the nature of crafting, small tolerances in the size and weight of each product, tiny bubbles, imperfections, or slight surface variations are an acceptable part of the process.
