OLD PULTENEY 12 Year Old. Matured wholly in air-dried, hand-selected ex-bourbon casks, the ‘unashamedly excellent’ Old Pulteney 12-years-old is the definitive expression in the Old Pulteney family. A very popular Highland dram, with a big sherry presence alongside sweet citrus fruit notes and a faint whiff of brine. Picked up the top prize in its category at the World Whisky Awards 2010.
TASTING NOTES:
Colour: Deep amber, red golden (with a slight pink hue) sparkling with a copper glow. Floral, citrus, apple, honeydew melon, caramel, and oak.
Aroma: Medium to high intensity with a briny hint of sea air.
Palate: Dry, medium bodied and smooth, redolent of honey and cream, faintly salty with a slight spicy note and a sweet long-lasting finish.
