This wine is the Premier Cru red from the Grands Epenots vineyard. Les Grands Epenots” is planted on a combination of clay and limestone that is rich and heavy. The quality of wines from this Premier Cru vineyard initialized a request for reclassification to Grand Cru in 2012. Wine Enthusiast raved ‘Toasty notes of mocha combine with red cherry on this wine’s nose. The same flavors fill the palate where firm tannins are still drying and taut. Underlying it all, vivid freshness lets both cherry and toast aromas shine.’
Tasting notes:
Deep red in colour. The first aromatic notes already give the perception of great complexity: raspberry, faded rose, licorice, coffee. The attack is rich and generous, with the most elegant and distinguished finish.
