This cuvée comes from 40-year-old vines, planted on a 0.23-hectare parcel owned by Domaine Heresztyn Mazzini. During harvest, the grapes are transferred to steel containers where fermentation takes place with the use of indigenous yeasts only. The wine is aged in oak barrels 18 months. The result is a rich and complex wine, with nuanced aromas of black fruits, spices and hints of mocha. A wine built for long ageing.
Tasting notes:
Lifted, fresh, showing opened aromatics thanks to a hint of whole-bunch, this follows with a deliciously soft and juicy core of fruit on the palate. Quite delicious.
