Château Chasse-Spleen 2015 is a distinguished red wine that unveils a taste profile characterized by a symphony of dark fruit flavors, possibly blackberries and plums, harmoniously woven with subtle notes of spices and possibly a touch of cedar or tobacco. Crafted predominantly from grape varieties traditional to Bordeaux, this wine embodies the region’s heritage. Originating from the Moulis-en-Médoc appellation in Bordeaux, France, it captures the terroir’s unique qualities. With a medium to full body and refined tannins, this 2015 vintage showcases both the classic Bordeaux style and the potential for aging, delivering a refined and memorable wine experience that echoes the essence of this esteemed wine-growing area.
Tasting notes:
It has a fresh blackberry, tobacco and graphite-scented bouquet that is well defined, gaining intensity with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin and crisp acidity. It feels fresh and lively with a welcome tang of salinity on the finish. It is not as powerful as other vintages that I have tasted, yet it is very well balanced and feels sustained on the aftertaste.
