Château Pontet Barrail is situated in the commune of Begadan and has belonged to the Bibey family since 1970. Château Pontet Barrail covers 17 hectares of land composed of clay limestone and sandy-gravelly soils. The vines have an average age of 38 years and thrive in this terroir which allows them to reach their full potential. The family’s work in the Chateau’s vineyards has been rewarded with ”Cru Bourgeois” status which is a reference point in the Médoc region.

Tasting notes:
Nose: Fruity and relatively powerful. It reveals notes of blackberry cream, crushed Gariguette strawberry and slight hints of plum associated with hints of chocolate as well as a hint of vanilla and a discreet hint of gray pepper.
Palate: Fruity, fine, sleek, silky and offers a good definition as well as a nice matter.
Mouth: Expresses notes of blackberry jelly, plum and cherry associated with slight notes of raspberry, chocolate, licorice, a hint of coffee as well as a discreet hint of pepper and gray pepper
