Georges Cordier, the grandfather of the current owners was one of the first to replant white wine in Médoc in the 1930’s. With a majority of Sauvignon, and a hint of Sémillon, Caillou Blanc is raised on its lees and stirred in a Burgundy manner. The wine is very aromatic, with a lively personality and responsiveness one finds again and again through all the vintages.
Tasting notes:
Lively on the nose, it offers lemon verbena, lemon thyme and white peach scents on the nose. The palate is well balanced with an attractive waxy texture, more pithy than recent vintages with a spicy, stem ginger tinged finish.
