The Dom Pérignon P2 2006 (Plénitude 2) was officially released in mid-to-late 2024 and is currently making its way through specialty distribution channels in 2026.
This release represents the same 2006 vintage but with approximately 15 years of maturation on the lees, providing a significant leap in complexity and energy compared to the original “P1” release.
Tasting & Critic Scores
The 2006 vintage was initially known for its “solar” ripeness, but the extended P2 aging has transformed it into something far more structured and “electric.”
-
Antonio Galloni (Vinous): 99 Points. He describes it as “dazzling” and “unforgettable,” noting that it outperforms almost every other Champagne from the 2006 vintage, including Salon and Krug.
-
James Suckling: 97 Points. Highlighted its zesty acidity, fine pinprick bubbles, and juicy finish.
-
Notes: Expect a profile of tangerine, apricot, and white pepper, anchored by deeper “P2” traits of mocha, roasted nuts, and saline minerality.
