The 2022 La Dame de Montrose is the second label of the esteemed Saint-Estèphe Second Growth, Château Montrose. This vintage is hailed by critics as a “mini-Montrose” that punches well above its weight, offering a rare combination of power, velvety richness, and surprising freshness.
Aging: Matured for 12 months in one-third new French oak barrels.
Nose: A seductive bouquet of blackcurrants, wild strawberries, and ripe cherries, with complex undertones of violets, graphite, and warm mocha.
Palate: Full-bodied and supple with a creamy, “powdery” tannic structure. It features layers of dark red fruits and chocolate, balanced by an energetic touch of orange zest and saline minerality.
Finish: Long and polished with nuances of cocoa, cinnamon spice, and liquorice.
