The Château Cheval Blanc 2024 is a highly-regarded Saint-Émilion wine known for its elegant, refined profile with notes of minty berries, violets, and plums, coupled with a refreshing, mineral texture and balanced structure. The 2024 vintage was characterized by strict selection processes, significant losses in the crop due to densimetric sorting to ensure quality, and a blend of 48% Cabernet Franc, 46% Merlot, and 6% Cabernet Sauvignon. Despite a relatively light weight, this wine offers great poise and balance, with the potential to age beautifully and develop greater complexity over time.

Aromas: Minty berries, plums, violets, rose petals, cigar wrapper, fresh herbs, and graphite.
Palate: Sophisticated and refined, with a medium body, beautiful texture, and integrated tannins that provide smoothness and freshness.
Finish: Long, aromatic, and persistent, leaving a sensation of complexity.

Vintage Characteristics & Production
Strict Selection: The winemaking team implemented aggressive green harvesting and densimetric sorting, which resulted in substantial crop losses to achieve full maturity and mitigate heterogeneity.
Fruit Concentration: The vintage is noted for excellent concentration and maturity, leading to a wine with great poise and balance.
Blend: The final wine is a blend of 48% Cabernet Franc, 46% Merlot, and 6% Cabernet Sauvignon.
Aging: It is aged in 100% new French oak barrels for 18 months.

Winemaking Process
Hand-Sorting: Grapes undergo a highly meticulous, multi-pass hand-sorting process.
Densimetric Sorting: After hand-sorting, berries are placed in a water and sugar bath; floating berries are rejected, while sinking berries are kept.
No Press Wine: As is customary at Cheval Blanc, no press wine is used in the grand vin.
