The 2024 Château Cheval Blanc is regarded as one of the “stars of the vintage”. It is characterized by its return to a classic, elegant style with lower alcohol levels (approx. 12.8% ABV) and high acidity, reminiscent of the balanced vintages of the 1980s and 90s.
- Aging: 100% new French oak for 18 months.
- Drinking Window: Best from 2030 to 2055, though approachable around 2029–2030 due to its refined tannins.
- Nose: Expressive and perfumed with aromas of violets, rose petals, blackcurrant, and minty berries, complemented by graphite and “cigar wrapper”.
- Palate: Medium-bodied and silky with a linear, mineral texture. It is noted for its “chalky” or “clayey” tannins and a long, persistent finish.
