The Château Mouton Rothschild 2024 has emerged as a premier success in a challenging Bordeaux vintage. It is currently available for purchase as En Primeur (wine futures), with the physical bottles expected for delivery in Spring 2027
- The Blend: 93% Cabernet Sauvignon and 7% Merlot. This high percentage of Cabernet is the second highest for the estate since 2010.
- Alcohol & pH: 12.9% ABV and a pH of 3.71, reflecting a fresher, more traditional structure than recent hot vintages.
- Aging: Matured for 18 months in 100% new French oak.
- Aromas: Intense blackcurrant, crème de cassis, pencil shavings, cigar wrapper, and floral notes.
- Palate: Medium to full-bodied with a creamy, velvety texture. It displays “austere, chalky tannins” that provide massive aging potential.
- Finish: Exceptionally long, revealing mineral, mint-tinged, and saline notes.
